AI game maker for Roblox Studio

An AI Roblox game maker that builds in your own Studio place

Describe your game one feature at a time. RoCode writes the Luau and builds the parts and UI in the place you have open, then checks its work.

Starter is free every day, no card. Get the Studio plugin (opens in a new tab)

IllustrationWhat the finished code in six of our guides does (Round system sped up), not recordings of a RoCode run. Each tile opens its guide.

The short answer

As of 8 October 2026, Roblox’s own Build turns a prompt into a simple 2D or 2.5D game in the Roblox mobile app. In Roblox Studio, RoCode, an independent tool, builds a game inside your own place, one feature or scene per prompt. A full game takes many prompts, and you still playtest, tune and publish it.

How a run works

You describe it. It builds, then checks.

One feature per prompt, built in the place you have open.

  1. 1

    Describe one feature

In plain words. It can read your place first, so it builds around what is already there.

  2. 2

    It builds in your place

Parts, ready-made structures, UI and Luau scripts. The chat lists each step.

  3. 3

    It checks its work

It is told to compile-check every script it writes with Check Script. With plugin 3.9 or newer, in Build mode, it can press Play for a short test and read the errors.

  • Reads your place
  • Builds in Studio
  • Undo with Ctrl+Z
What RoCode does in each run
  • It can read your place first, with tools such as Search Game and Read Script, so it builds around what is already there.
  • It builds with parts, using Build Structure or one of 12 ready-made structures such as the Obstacle course, and writes scripts with Create Script.
  • It is told to check every script it writes with Check Script, which compiles the code with Luau’s compiler inside Studio without running it. When a check fails, the run is sent back to fix it, up to two times, before it can finish.
  • With plugin 3.9 or newer, in Build mode (RoCode’s chat mode that makes changes; Ask mode only reads), it can press Play for a test of up to 30 seconds and read the server and client errors and warnings. If Studio does not stop within 20 seconds, it asks you to press Stop.
  • A test finds errors. It does not move a character or press buttons, so only you can tell when a jump feels wrong. Play each stage before you move on.
  • Each batch of changes is an undo point in Studio, so Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac) steps back one batch at a time.

The panel above is an example of the steps in one run, not a recording.

The six guides in the wall, and what lands in your place

Ask RoCode for the same feature in your own place, or follow the guide by hand. What RoCode builds in your place depends on your prompt, your place and the model you pick.

  • Tycoon: claim pad, droppers, conveyor, collector, upgrade buttons and saving.
  • Round system: intermission, random maps, teleports, a shared timer and Wins. Its loop is sped up.
  • NPC pathfinding: follow the nearest player, jump, find a new path and stop the stutter.
  • Shop GUI: a coin shop where the server checks every purchase.
  • Leaderboard: leaderstats, safe rewards, saving and a global top 10.
  • Inventory: stacking slots, a grid UI, equippable Tools and saving.

Setup

Start in three steps

You need Roblox Studio on Windows or Mac and a desktop browser.

Web chat

rocode.app/chat

Studio plugin

From the Creator Store

Your place

Open in Roblox Studio

  1. Get the plugin (opens in a new tab)
  2. Copy the code in Studio
  3. Paste it in the chat

Not needed: a desktop app, a command line or an MCP server. RoCode never asks for your Roblox password.

Watch the setup, 18 seconds

WalkthroughReal RoCode screens: get the plugin, copy the code in Studio, paste it in the chat, then Connect.

Each step in detail

Get the plugin. Install RoCode from the Creator Store (opens in a new tab), then sign in at rocode.app with an email code, Google, Roblox or Discord.

Copy the code in Studio. Open a place, your game or a new Baseplate. The RoCode panel shows a one-time 8-character code that expires after 15 minutes.

Paste it in the RoCode chat and press Connect. Studio then asks you to confirm the account. Now describe your first feature.

Permissions, pairing and what to do if it does not connect are in the setup docs.

Step by step

How to make a Roblox game with AI, one system at a time

The short version

Pick one core loop, connect RoCode to a place in Studio, and ask for one system per prompt. Review each change, undo what you do not want, then test it in Play.

  1. Pick one core loop

The one thing players repeat. Build it first.

  2. Ask for the first system

One system per prompt, in plain words, with RoCode connected to your place.

  3. Review the change list

The chat lists each step. Look at what it added.

  4. Undo what you do not want

One batch of changes at a time. Cmd+Z on Mac.

  5. Test it in Play

With plugin 3.9 or newer, in Build mode, RoCode can run a short playtest and read the errors. You still play it to judge the game.

  6. Add the next system

Repeat steps 2 to 5, one system per prompt.

  7. Publish from Studio yourself

RoCode cannot publish or save your place.

The prompt and the tool lines are examples written by us, not a recorded RoCode run.

The seven steps in detail
  1. Pick one core loop. Decide what players do again and again, such as jump, reach a checkpoint and try the next stage, or collect cash, buy an upgrade and collect faster. Build that loop first and add everything else around it.
  2. Ask for the first system. With RoCode connected to your place (the three setup steps above), describe one system in plain words, for example: “Add checkpoints: respawn players at the last one they touched and show their Stage in the player list.” The obby checkpoints guide explains the same system with its code.
  3. Review the change list. The chat lists each step RoCode takes, such as Create Script and Check Script. RoCode is told to compile-check every script it writes; open what it added in Explorer before you ask for more.
  4. Undo what you do not want. RoCode sets an undo point in Studio before and after each batch of changes, so Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac) steps back through its work one batch at a time while Studio is open. A run is usually several batches.
  5. Test it in Play. With plugin 3.9 or newer, in Build mode, RoCode can press Play for a test of up to 30 seconds and read the server and client errors and warnings. It does not move a character or press buttons, so press Play yourself and play the new system to judge it.
  6. Add the next system. Repeat steps 2 to 5 for each one, for example kill bricks, then saving player data, then a coin shop. One system per prompt keeps each change small enough to review and undo.
  7. Publish from Studio yourself. RoCode cannot publish or save your place, or create game passes and developer products. Create those in Creator Hub, review what you publish, and publish from Studio when the game is ready.

Example

Build an obby in a few prompts

One feature per prompt, in the order you would build it yourself.

IllustrationWhat the obby checkpoints guide’s finished code does.

  1. Build an obby by the spawn: 10 stages of harder jumps, with a checkpoint on each.
  2. Respawn players at their last checkpoint and show their Stage.
  3. Turn the red parts into kill bricks.
  4. Stage 7 is too hard. Move its last three platforms 2 studs closer.

Example prompts written by us, not a recorded session, so no results are shown.

All six prompts, and what to check after each
  1. “Build an obby in front of the spawn: 10 short stages of jumps that get harder, with a numbered checkpoint pad on each.” Then walk it in Play: can every jump be made?
  2. “Add checkpoints: show each player’s Stage in the player list and respawn them at the last checkpoint they reached.” Then fall off on stage 3. The obby checkpoints guide has the same system.
  3. “Turn the red parts into kill bricks that reset any player who touches them.” Then touch one: you should respawn at your checkpoint.
  4. “Save each player’s Stage, so they come back to the same checkpoint when they rejoin.” To test it, publish the place and turn on Studio API access yourself. See the saving player data guide.
  5. “Stage 7 is too hard. Move its last three platforms 2 studs closer together.” The tuning loop: you play, you notice, you ask.
  6. “Add a Skip Stage button that sells my developer product [your product ID] and moves the player to the next stage after they buy it.” Create the product in Creator Hub first, because RoCode cannot.

To test saving in Studio, publish the place and turn on Enable Studio Access to API Services yourself; RoCode cannot change that setting. The saving player data guide explains the rest.

For the Skip Stage button, create the developer product in Creator Hub first, because RoCode cannot, and give RoCode its ID. Publish from Studio when you are happy.

Roblox Build
by Roblox
The Build tab in the Roblox mobile app. It is rolling out by region, starting with New Zealand, to users aged 9 and older who have completed an age check. 2D and 2.5D games, best with simpler types such as clickers, arcade games and side-scrollers. It publishes to Roblox with one tap after a quick safety check. Its docs describe a Playtest button but say that playtesting is coming soon and not yet available in Build. A set number of free prompts every day; more credits are bought with Robux.
Roblox Assistant
in Studio, by Roblox
Built into Roblox Studio on your computer. Creates and changes objects and scripts in your place, inserts Creator Store assets, and generates materials, meshes and procedural models. Planning Mode shows a plan you approve before it runs. Roblox’s docs say it can playtest your game and simulate player input, and that it can look at the viewport in Edit and Play. Roblox’s docs list no charge, and Studio is free. The one documented cap is 50 procedural models in a rolling 24 hours.
RoCode
independent, not by Roblox
A web chat in a desktop browser plus a free plugin from the Creator Store, in Roblox Studio on Windows or Mac. It works in the place you have open. Scripts, parts, part-built structures and UI, one feature or scene per prompt. No meshes, terrain or Toolbox models. Compile-checks its scripts with Check Script. With plugin 3.9 or newer, in Build mode, it can press Play for up to 30 seconds and read the errors. It does not move a character or press buttons, so you play it to judge the game. Starter is free every day: 2 credits on DeepSeek V4 Flash or GPT-OSS 120B, no card. Pro is $9.99 a month.
Other Studio agents
such as Ropilot and RoAI
Ropilot: a desktop app, Ropilot Studio, that installs its plugin. RoAI: a Creator Store plugin and a web app at roai.studio. By their own sites, both write Luau and change the place you have open. Ropilot also builds meshes and animations through Blender. RoAI shows a plan to approve and also builds terrain, low-poly models and sounds. Ropilot says it launches the game, inspects screenshots and clicks through flows. RoAI says it watches for errors and retries, and since 8 October 2026 checks pictures of the models it built and the layout of its screens; its guides tell you to run Play Solo yourself. Ropilot: a one-time free starter balance, then Ropilot Plus at $20 a month or packs from $8. RoAI: the Free plan has 0 credits, and paid plans start at £12 a month.

Limits

What RoCode does not do

It builds what you describe in the place you have open. Shipping the game stays with you.

RoCode does not

  • Publish or save your place
  • Upload meshes, images or audio
  • Generate meshes or animations
  • Insert Toolbox models or sculpt terrain
  • Create passes or spend Robux
  • Move a character or take screenshots
  • Work on a phone
  • Build a finished game from one sentence

What stays your job

  • Play it and decide what is fun
  • Create passes in Creator Hub
  • Enable API access to test saving
  • Publish from Studio
The limits in full

RoCode does not:

  • Publish or save your place, or change your experience’s settings on Roblox’s website.
  • Upload meshes, images or audio, or insert models from the Toolbox or Creator Store.
  • Generate meshes or animations, or sculpt or paint terrain.
  • Create game passes or developer products, or spend Robux.
  • Move a character, press buttons or take screenshots of your game.
  • Work on a phone: the chat needs a desktop browser.
  • Build a finished, balanced game from one sentence.

What stays your job:

  • Play every stage, decide what is fun, and ask for changes.
  • Create passes and developer products in Creator Hub, then give RoCode their IDs for the scripts.
  • Turn on Enable Studio Access to API Services if you want to test saving in Studio. RoCode cannot change it for you.
  • Publish from Studio when the game is ready.
  • Review what you publish. Roblox’s docs say all content, including content made with AI, must follow its Community Standards, and that with third-party tools you are responsible for what reaches players.

RoCode can change place properties such as gravity or default character settings, like any edit in Studio. The full list of limits is in the docs, and what the plugin can reach and send is under Is RoCode safe?

FAQ

Questions

Can AI make a whole Roblox game?

Not from one sentence. As of 8 October 2026, Roblox’s own Build, in the Roblox mobile app, makes simple 2D and 2.5D games from a prompt. In Roblox Studio, RoCode builds a game one feature or scene per prompt: one prompt can build a small playable scene, and a full game takes many prompts. You still playtest it, tune it and publish it yourself.

Is RoCode free?

Yes. The Starter plan is free every day: 2 credits a day on DeepSeek V4 Flash or GPT-OSS 120B, refilled at 00:00 UTC, with no card. Paid plans start with Pro at $9.99 a month for 150 credits and add stronger models. See the plans and prices.

Is RoCode the same as Roblox Build?

No. Build is Roblox’s own AI game maker in the Roblox mobile app. It makes 2D and 2.5D games from a prompt and publishes them with one tap. RoCode is an independent product, not made by Roblox: a web chat plus a Studio plugin that builds in the Roblox Studio place you have open, on Windows or Mac. Roblox’s docs also say that editing a Build game in Studio permanently turns it into a standard Studio game.

Does RoCode playtest the game?

Yes, with plugin 3.9 or newer, in Build mode, RoCode’s chat mode that makes changes. RoCode can press Play for a test of up to 30 seconds, read the server and client errors and warnings, and stop the test (if Studio does not stop within 20 seconds, it asks you to press Stop), so it can fix the errors it finds. It does not move a character, press buttons or take screenshots, so it catches errors, not whether a jump is too long or a round is fun. Ask mode only reads and never playtests.

Does RoCode make 3D models?

It builds with parts: 12 ready-made structures such as a tower, a bridge or an obstacle course, or models it puts together part by part. It does not generate meshes or animations, sculpt terrain or insert models from the Toolbox. Roblox’s Assistant in Studio can generate meshes.

Can RoCode publish my game?

No. The plugin has no code to publish or save your place, upload assets or spend Robux, and RoCode cannot create game passes or developer products. You create those in Creator Hub and publish from Studio when you are ready. RoCode can write the scripts that sell a pass and give its perks.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Say what should happen in plain words; you do not need class names or to know where scripts go. The chat lists each step RoCode takes, and you still play the game to decide whether it works the way you want.

Can I undo what RoCode builds?

Yes. RoCode sets an undo point in Studio before and after each batch of changes, so Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac) steps back through its work one batch at a time while Studio is open. A run is usually several batches.
